Description:

  • Open from early May until late October, Mount Hutt has one of the longest seasons in New Zealand. The road to the mountain base is not for the faint-hearted but once there, you will experience world-class skiing. Elevation is 2075 metres, with 365 hectares of ski terrain: around 25 percent for beginners, 50 percent for intermediate skiiers, and 25 percent for advanced skiiers (mostly accessed by T-bars). The longest run is two kilometres, and there is a half pipe for boarders. This field is often exposed to the winds, so come prepared. Services include a café, fully licensed brasserie, crèche, snow shop, ski and snow board school, storage, ski/snowboard rental and repair centre. Accommodation and apres-ski nightlife are available in nearby Methven.
