Description:

  • Porter Heights is the closest commercial ski field to Christchurch (one hour's drive by car), and has a great range of facilities for any keen skier or snowboarder. You have to be comfortable with your avoidance strategies on the slopes, which are usually crowded! They have very nice beginner and intermediate runs, and some extremely challenging advanced and snow board slopes. Facilities include a cafĂ©, ski repair/waxing centre, ski school (for all abilities) and a first aid team.
