Scandalously fun, Scandals is another great place to check out. Scandals can provide welcome respite from the tropical themes and seafood bonanzas ever-present in Aruba. Here, the decor is more uptown than down home, and the menu is more California bistro than island surf shanty. Choose from a variety of salads, sandwiches and pastas, or a handful of meat-focused entrees. The "A La Dutch" snack platter is the one item to hint at local flavor. The full bar and live entertainment keep things lively well into the night.
For some island-style rocking, the Bugaloe Beach Bar and Grill is a must-visit. This colorful, beachfront joint rocks out to live music six nights a week. The band performs at the water's edge. The island rhythms are contagious, and the dancing usually spills from the floor onto the sand. Enjoy a tasty breakfast, lunch, or dinner from Bugaloe's menu. Or listen to music and sip on one of the many specialty drinks (the Frozen Bugaloe is worth a trip to Aruba alone).
