Aruba Fun Restaurants

  • Aruba, hands-down, has some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean. But Aruba restaurants aren't just renowned for their food, but also for dishing out tons of fun as well. A great place to start your dining experience is at Cuba's Cookin'. This fun, informal spot, though set in an old farm house, is plenty hip. Original art captures whimsical scenes of Latin street life, while up-tempo music from the Buena Vista Social Club keeps the warm staff smiling. Sip a mint, rum, and sugar-laced mojito, and start with the plantain chips. The seafood boat is also a winning main course.

    Scandalously fun, Scandals is another great place to check out. Scandals can provide welcome respite from the tropical themes and seafood bonanzas ever-present in Aruba. Here, the decor is more uptown than down home, and the menu is more California bistro than island surf shanty. Choose from a variety of salads, sandwiches and pastas, or a handful of meat-focused entrees. The "A La Dutch" snack platter is the one item to hint at local flavor. The full bar and live entertainment keep things lively well into the night.

    For some island-style rocking, the Bugaloe Beach Bar and Grill is a must-visit. This colorful, beachfront joint rocks out to live music six nights a week. The band performs at the water's edge. The island rhythms are contagious, and the dancing usually spills from the floor onto the sand. Enjoy a tasty breakfast, lunch, or dinner from Bugaloe's menu. Or listen to music and sip on one of the many specialty drinks (the Frozen Bugaloe is worth a trip to Aruba alone). You definitely won't get bored, and you certainly won't go hungry, when you visit these fun Aruba restaurants.
