Description:
This warm, appealing restaurant showcases home-cooked Aruban specialties. Set in a traditional island homestead, Nos Cunucu boasts thick, whitewashed walls, Shaker-like furniture, and checkerboard tile floors. The intimate open-air dining room is neat and informal. So is the food. Aruban fish soup with lemongrass, mezze (fish cakes), and cheese pastechis (deep-fried turnovers) are good appetizers. Recommended main courses include fish, chicken, or beef curry, steak crioyo, Caribbean lobster, mixed seafood, and the popular keshi yena (chicken and Gouda cheese baked with onions, peppers, olives, raisins, and cashews). Most dishes come with fried bananas and funchi (corn polenta) or pan bati (corn bread). Have caramel flan or cheesecake for dessert.
