  • Downtown Asheville has a thriving nightlife that you will not want to ignore. From concert halls to beer gardens you will be able to find some night time fun for you and the whole family. Check out the Diana Wortham Theatre for some incredible live performances from touring dance, theater, and local companies. If you are in Asheville in the summer and are in the mood for live music you should make plans to attend Shindig on the Green. Located at Roger McGuire Green at Pack Square Park, this free Saturday night outdoor evening concert series features Southern Appalachian music and dance. Bring a chair or a blanket to stake out a spot on the “green”, but don’t sit in your chair the entire time. Asheville is such a wonderful city for Jazz and Blues as well. Leave the kids at the hotel with a babysitter and head over to Stella Blue for some toe-tapping fun. This hip downtown spot is home to blues, jazz, reggae, techno, and hip hop. You will definitely be able to dance the night away while listening to these great live artists. Additionally, Tressa’s Downtown Jazz & Blues is a trendy establishment that serves the local crowd or anyone who wants to get down to some great live music.

Check out Asheville’s pubs and beer gardens for a taste of some great local flavor. Located in the heart of Downtown Asheville’s shopping district, the Bier Garden offers the finest selection of beers from local microbreweries and from around the world. Check out Hannah Flanagan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant for some traditional Irish food and drinks. For instance, you can order their Corned Beef and Cabbage or Shepherd’s Pie while enjoying live music and a cold Guinness.
