  • Asheville, North Carolina is nestled between the Blue Ridge Mountains and Great Smokey Mountains. Known as the “Paris of the South” you will definitely find a place to rest your head that suits your traveling needs. If you would like to stay at a comfortable and chic hotel in the Downtown area you should make a reservation at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. Here you can enjoy elegant spa treatments, panoramic mountain views, and rousing games of golf. There are also plenty of bed and breakfast hotels to make you feel more at home. Check out the Black Walnut Bed and Breakfast Inn for a little turn-of-the-century flair. Providing modern comforts while retaining its 19th century charm, this estate will not disappoint. You can borrow one of their bicycles and ride through the stunning gardens or enjoy your in-room Jacuzzi. Travelers on a tighter budget may want to investigate the Aberdeen Inn. Located in the Grove Park area of Downtown, you will get a full gourmet breakfast and generous Southern Hospitality.

Rustic mountain lodges are also a great choice for your stay in Asheville. Bent Creek Lodge and the Log Cabin Motor Court offer easy access to the North Carolinian wilderness. The Bent Creek Lodge is a rustic retreat only 10 miles from the center of Asheville, but it feels like you are staying in a remote mountain get-a-way. The Log Cabin Motor Court however, is a historic 1930s property retrofitted with modern amenities. In addition, you will find many campgrounds where you can reserve a camp site for you and your family. Check out Bon Paul and Sharky’s hostel in West Asheville, because you’ll not only be able to set up camp but you’ll also be to hear wild stories from the backpackers who stay in the dormitories at the hostel.

Your trip would not be complete without staying at the Inn on the famous Biltmore Estate. Pack up your camping gear and slip into your finest dress, because you’ll want to reserve a night or two at this lavish manor. While the Biltmore estate was built in 1895, the more contemporary Inn on the estate does not compromise when it comes to modern conveniences and activities. You can go horseback riding, take a horse-drawn carriage ride, visit the library, and make reservations at the estate’s winery.
