- Wildberry Lodge is constructed of full length red pine logs, hand peeled, notched and assembled by the handcrafters of Maple Island Log Homes (stained and chinked by the innkeepers). Situated on 34 acres at approx 2700 ft elevation in the Newfound Mountains, Wildberry Lodge is just minutes from downtown Asheville, NC. The Great Hall has a massive stacked stone fireplace surrounded by cozy leather furniture, a game table and a 180 degree view of the valley farmlands and distant mountain ranges. This room is great for socializing, sitting by the fire on a cool morning or evening or playing a game of chess. The loft area is equipped with stocked guest refrigerator, satellite television, VCR, DVD and CD player. Guests have access to the innkeepers video, CD, DVD and book collections. The Game room has a pool table and TV for those rainy days or unwinding at the end of the day. Come visit us and enjoy the spectacular mountain views and sunsets from the sundeck, flagstone patio or screened porch or relax in our bentwood hickory rockers on the covered porch.
