Built in 1928 as a summer refuge for members of the Chicago underworld, the Wildwood is today a favorite hideaway for budget-conscious outdoor sports lovers. The rooms are quaint, quiet, and cozy, and all have a full kitchen. Several units were recently remodeled with all new soft goods, upgraded plumbing, flooring, and kitchens. Five units have shower/tub combos and the rest have showers only. Additionally, there are six cabins, with two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms, washers and dryers, and private decks. The property also boasts several shady picnic tables, a fish-cleaning station, and two duck ponds that are stocked with rainbow trout.
