Garlic Mike's

• Featuring a rustic dining room with red-and-white checkered tablecloths and an imposing fireplace, Garlic Mike's also has a great back patio within sight of the green banks of the Gunnison River. But besides the comfortable tables inside and out, the food is the town's best, and an entire wall of awards from the local paper serves as proof. The cream of mushroom soup is hard to get out of your head after consuming a cup, as are many of owner-chef Mike Busse's recipes. Most everything on the menu is quite good -- and often quite garlicky -- and caters to a range of tastes, from pasta dishes like the meatless lasagna verdure to steaks and gourmet pizzas.
