Description:
A Denver & Rio Grande narrow-gauge steam train and depot are highlights at this museum, which includes a dozen buildings from the area's past. There's an emphasis on ranching and homemaking equipment from the late 1800s and early 1900s, and exhibits include a rural schoolhouse (ca. 1905), a home with 19th-century furnishings, a dairy barn (ca. 1880), minerals and arrowheads, wagons, toys, and Gunnison's first post office (1876), plus over 50 antique and classic motor vehicles on display, from a Model A Ford tanker truck to an old Cadillac hearse. Allow 2 hours.
