    • Sunlight Mountain Resort is roughly an hour's drive from Aspen near the town of Glenwood Springs. This humble mountain is a fun and quiet local favorite, without all the glamour and glitz of Aspen and Vail. Lift tickets are affordable and the terrain ranges from beginner/intermediate bumps and groomers to wicked steeps at Sunlight Extreme. Another 10 miles of trails is open for cross country skiing and snowshoeing and those looking for overnight adventures can stay at a true backcountry cabin for a small fee.
