- Attractions in this area include an extensive network of jeeping roads left over from the logging era. Hiking trails also connect to the "four-corners" region above the Hunter Creek Valley norhteast of Aspen. Other opportunities available in this area include backpacking, horseback riding, backcountry camping, fishing, four-wheel driving, sightseeing. Winter brings possibilities for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.
This area lies to the north of Aspen and around the old town of Lenado. Kobey Park is located to the north of Woody Creek. Directions: Travel west 7 miles from Aspen on Highway 82 to the Woody Creek turnoff on your right. At the bottom of the hill and across the bridge turn left to the Woody Creek Tavern. About a 1/4 mile past the tavern make a sharp right onto Road 18 and drive 10 miles to Lenado. From there continue on the road to Kobey Park.
