• Booze Cooperativa is easily one of the best bars in Athens. Long heavy communal monk tables are crowded with mixed groups of patrons playing chess, easily sipping from their glasses and discussing matters of the human experience. The bar is a common meeting ground through the day- even if exceptional in its cavey, other-worldly atmosphere- but Wednesday through Saturday nights the place lives up to its reputation as a coop by allowing rotating performers and artists to display their work on three different levels.
  
  The bar's location is in the still undiscovered garment district where cheap clothing and fabric shops meet with newcomers to the intellegista nightlife scene. It's just a stone's throw from the commercial pedestrian path of Ermou: take Aiolou Street- the pedestrian street just before Ermou hits Monastiraki Square- and when you come upon Kolokotroni Street, yield to the right. Booze Cooperativa is just a few meters down.
