NileGuide Expert tip:

The place is small so stick into the odd hours to ensure a comfy seat inside the cafe: 1pm-5pm should do it.

Description:

Inspired by a small cafe discovered on a trip to the French countryside, Petite Fleur is as rich and sugary as the hot chocolate they boil daily, each cup, boiling for  a full seventeen minutes then let to sit for five so that it's served at the perfect temperature, that of the human body, the best for appreciating the delicate nuances of the cocoa.

The menu is not limited to chocolate: Teas, coffees, milk shakes, juices, light salads, tarts and cakes of the day are all open to those who aren't up to the task of choosing from the flummoxing array of hot cocoa, ranging from bergamot, cardamom, honey and brandy, milk, and pepper...served in an Olympic sized mug, topped with a cream flower.

You won't debate the value of the six euro price tag, though finishing it can cause problems to weaker stomachs.

The whole experience is best inside where French jazz cracks along the record player. The charm of the shop is owed to the loving hand of the store's owner who built it all himself, then worked alone every day for two years until the concept took off in the neighborhood of Kolonaki

Nearest metro: Panepistimiou
Turn left on Omirou, the street next to the grand Academy of Science and Art and start the climb up the hilly street.
