• Skipper's Yacht and Roll, or simply "Skipper's" is that salt encrusted, creaky bar that makes you feel you're a sailor by association. During the day it's quiet and laid back, serving moderately-priced coffees and no-frills menu items to boaters and locals. As the sun sinks lower, the mood shifts and mellow grooves are played overhead. Couples occupy chairs and drink cocktails and wine watching the ships rock in their slips, the masts clanging percussion in the wind.
  
  In warm weather, sitting outside under umbrellas is ideal; pots of basil keep the flies at bay and give off a sweet smell. During the winter, plastic tents are put up and a wood-burning fireplace keeps the interior toasty.
  
  Located in Alimou Marina near Kalimaki beach. Take the tram from the Athens city center to the Kalimaki station and follow the signs to Skipper's, positioned just at the water's edge and marked by an old wooden ship parked just outside.
