The friendly, family-owned and -operated Carolina, on the outskirts of the Plaka, is a brisk 5-minute walk from Syntagma and has always been popular with students. In the last few years, the Carolina has undertaken extensive remodeling and now attracts a wide range of frugal travelers. Double-glazed windows and air-conditioning make the guest rooms especially comfortable. Many rooms have large balconies, and several (such as no. 308) with four or five beds are popular with families and students. The congenial atmosphere may be a bit too noisy for some.

reasonable choice for this hotel close to the Metro station

We book this hotel the morning for the same day evening by phone, it was a lucky choice. The people on the phone and when we arrive can speak good English, which is already a good point....
