• Warning! Loukoumades are perhaps the most sinful, most delicious, and most affordable splurge awaiting you in Athens and Krinos has been the Loukoumades authority since the 1920's. Doughnuts aren't dipped in the fryer until ordered, done in a self service style and charged  €3.20 for a serving of six. They come to you hot, drizzled in honey and sprinkled with cinnamon. Like funnel cakes or beignets they're best when eaten quickly and preferably shared. Chocolate is an option for those who prefer "just-looking-at-it-induces-cavities" level of sweetness.
  
  The semolina custard pie called "Bougatsia" is another preferred pastry served at Krinos. Coffees and savory pastries are also available at lower than average prices.
