• We appreciate a bit of personality in our service providers, and Funky Ride Bicycle Shop and Rentals certainly has that in spades. The little store is well located near the Makrigianni pedestrian entrance to Areopagitou Street meaning those unfamiliar with the roads or aggressive drivers of Athens won't be thrown into the unwelcome reality too soon. Funky Ride provides 3-speed trekking cycles in various sizes, for women and for men. All bikes have lights in front and back. In sales, they're one of the premiere distributors of Dahon folding bikes, but the graphic T shirts, post cards, bicycle parts and accessories to complement the lifestyle of a two-wheeler fit much better in your suitcase.
  
  Rental rates run from €9 for up to eight hours or €12 for the whole day. Multiple days can be arranged but need to be discussed on a case by case basis.
  
  Upon renting a bicycle, you're given a helmet and a map with a recommended route to circumvent most of the busy streets and still manage to see most of the city center.
  
  Nearest metro: Acropolis Station (line 2, red)
  head down Makriyianni away from the museum and stay to the left as the street splits.
