Rarely crowded beach with crystal clear waters. Poseidon approves of Legrena beach!

  • Description:

    • For those who want to escape the disco tech feel of some of Athens' organized beaches, Legrena Beach offers the wild untamed landscape best appreciated by basking and bathing- not bumping a grind. Naturally occurring barriers of sea-swept rocks and pebbles have divided the beach into three separate beaches, but unlike many other Attica beaches, Legrina offers sandy shores; perfect for digging a sun-umbrella in, which is highly recommended as there's no shade to speak of. Beach chairs or mats are also advisable.

The beach is free-access and 3 km from Cape Sounion on Attica's southern tip. Getting there by car takes about an hour; should you choose to take the orange KTEL bus expect a 90 minute ride. The bus leaves from Pedio tou Areos every hour on the half hour. There are small fish tavernas and restaurants in the area but may require a bit of a walk.
