  • Atlanta's southern cuisine, from fried chicken with waffles to macaroni and cheese, is a must. Several homey eateries around town serve up traditional soul food, while others, such as South City Kitchen and JCT Kitchen, have dressed it up into gourmet meals. Another not to miss cuisine, believe it or not, is Mexican. An incredible amount of authentic taquerias can be found on Buford Highway with trendier spots dotting Midtown, Buckhead and Virginia-Highland. Regardless of the cuisine, the favorite meal in this city might just be brunch, with Atlantans in all neighborhoods flocking to their favorite breakfast spots in droves on Sunday mornings.
