1. Interesting fact: Margaret Mitchell wrote "Gone with the Wind" in Midtown Atlanta in a home that is now a museum. The famous author's final resting place can also be visited at Oakland Cemetery near downtown.

3. The annual Peachtree Road Race that takes place each Fourth of July is the largest 10K foot race in the world.
