Description:
- One of the most talked-about restaurants on the Atlanta dining scene, Abattoir is focused on locally sourced whole-animal cuisine. In fact, Abattoir is French for "slaughterhouse." It's only fitting that the restaurant is housed in a former meatpacking plant. Honoring the old-fashioned tradition of wasting as little of the animal as possible, the restaurant's menu features a variety of dishes from a variety of animals. Inventive appetizers like pickled Georgia shrimp served in a jar can be complemented by choice local produce and cheeses. Main dishes range from tripe stew and beer-braised rabbit to more conventional grilled swordfish and New York strip. Located on the hip West Side, plenty of shopping awaits before or after your meal. - Rachel Quartarone
