  • Sponsored and supported by the German government, this is one of 11 U.S. locations of the Munich-based Goethe-Institut, which was created in the early 1900s to promote German culture abroad. The center offers language classes at all levels and regularly sponsors special programs, exhibits, lectures and artistic performances. A library of more than 10,000 German volumes is free and open to the public, as are regular screenings of contemporary and historic German films.
