Waffle House Museum - Atlanta

  • Description:

    • If you're from the South, you've no doubt eaten at the Waffle House. The iconic 24-hour restaurant chain actually got its start in Atlanta. The first Waffle House location now serves as a museum where visitors can experience what life was like in 1955, when the restaurant first opened. Original fixtures and carefully crafted replicas recreate the original interior. Next door, Waffle House memorabilia – such as menus, uniforms and merchandize – demonstrate how the restaurants have changed over time. If you find you're craving a waffle after the tour, never fear. There are 225 locations in metro Atlanta alone, with the closest location just down the street. The museum is open by appointment only, so call ahead (with 48 hours advanced notice) to arrange a tour.
