  • Considering the small population size of Auckland, the city boasts a surprising number of five star hotels. The variety includes some with amazing sea views, historical and funky little numbers and those which are situated right in amongst it all in the CBD (Central Business District). If you like the idea of glancing out over the Harbour with a glass of New Zealand pinot noir after a hard day's sightseeing, look to hotels which are located in and around the Viaduct area. The Hilton Hotel juts right out into the water on Prince's Wharf and was built to look like a cruise ship. If you are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary, have a look at the trendy Hotel DeBrett. It's smack dab in the middle of everything as it is located halfway up Queen Street, the main thoroughfare here in Auckland. Or go for Stafford Villa in Devonport. You will feel the history of New Zealand staying in this old house. For your normal, you can count on it, five-star experience, try the Sky City Hotel located under the tower or there is also a Westin and a Hyatt.
