Description:
- The Brown Kiwi (BK) is a dormitory style hostel, set within an old two-storey colonial villa. There are four to eight bunk beds per room--some double rooms are available. Kitchen facilities are provided and there is an in-house bar. A pleasant garden has a barbecue area. Although located on a quiet side street, it is just a minute's walk to all the action on Ponsonby Road with its many trendy shops, cafes and restaurants.

The German guy who runs the place is very nice and gives lots of info about Auckland. The kitchen, toilets and TV room are also good. We stayed in the bottom double room in the garden...
