- This fully licensed cafe/restaurant is in the heart of the (previously industrial) now regenerating area at the foot of Mt Eden--and these parts are full of character. You are very near Auckland's Victorian Mt Eden prison. Soft green and cream walls create a gentle background for the activity inside. Glass doors open to the green leafy courtyard. The menu is varied and interesting--Thai chili chicken soup, Caesar salad--an exotic version! Whitebait and scallop fritters. They are open for breakfast and have counter food, such as panini.
