- Indian culinary delights greet you at Saffron, one of Ponsonby's lesser known ethnic eateries. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Masala dosa is scrumptious and there are tasty vegetarian dishes. Poppadoms are complimentary. The restaurant is fully licensed with a decent wine list and lots of beers, including the famous Indian Kingfisher beer, which goes perfectly with a curry. Always well patronised, Saffron comes highly recommended by its regulars.

Great South Indian food. Can be a crowded over the weekend when they have this South Indian Vegetarian Buffet, but the food is really good, wide variety and absolute value for money....

A very very good Indian restaurant. The owner has amazing sense of service and food quality and when I asked for a slightly less sweet curry (some can tend to be) it was no problem....
