A great way to get a feel for the landscape of Auckland but it's no walk in the park (sorry)! Be prepared for a few hills and take water and a snack or two.
Description:
- The walk takes you through some of the most scenic areas of Auckland from the waterfront to Onehunga. It is 16 kilometres long (about 4-6 hours of walking) and takes you past Mt. Eden and One Tree Hill, two important volcanic cones within the city. You will need plenty of sunblock and a hat due to our strong sun and also lots of water although you will never be very far from a dairy (local small shop).To find out about buses to or from Onehunga ask at the Britomart Station or Tourist Information in town. Tourist Info also has maps of the walk available.
