- Type: Ferries
NileGuide Expert tip:
Ferries are fairly frequent to Devonport you should always check when your last ferry back is. But, if you do get caught out, you can always find the bus. Neither ferries nor buses to/from Devonport run late, however, so be warned.
Description:
- You can easily take a bus to Devonport, but the ferries are so much more fun. The views of Auckland city are spectacular on a sunny day, for one. Have your camera ready. Be sure and go up top in the fresh briney air for the full experience. As you approach Devonport, you will see clearly the historical relationship that New Zealand has with England as many people remark that it looks like an English seaside village. While exploring North Head and the lovely Devonport shops, be sure to leave enough time to have fish and chips on the waterfront before catching your ferry back to the city.
