Running Events in Auckland

In an effort to raise money for disaster relief and local community projects ADRA started this event in 2000 and it's still going strong. There are team and individual entries for the half-marathon, 10K and 5K. All runs go down scenic Tamaki Drive in Mission Bay.

You must register via the website by the 12th of November or incur a $10 fee.

Described as "Run-walk, wade, scramble, rock-hop" this look like an exciting event for all you self-testers who like to get worn out on multi-level terrain. There are 5 event options:

• 33km FULL MONTY individual & teams run
• 22km run
• 16km run or walk
• 11km run or walk
• 6km run & walk

Description:

This is the kind of race you can only run or cycle in a few places in the world and New Zealand is one of them. Participants need to register early to get a discount by clicking on the website. There is an off road marathon, an off road half-marathon, 30km and 50 km bikes and a new 10 km run/ walk event. The event raises money for conservation so, it's not only a challenge but you also get to help out the local flora and fauna.

Description:

There are two events, the half marathon and 11K, both of which you can run or walk. Bear in mind that this is the sunniest part of the year and the course runs along the water. Take heed and be prepared with lots of sunblock and a hat. This race would be a great way to run alongside some locals and enjoy the atmosphere.
Closing date for standard entries is 11 February. Registration is $45 ($50 after the 11th) and you can register online.
