Trudy's Texas Star

• The neighborhood bar and patio at Trudy's Texas Star is a staple for Austinites. Do not miss their signature drink, the Mexican Martini, easily the best in town. Served in a cocktail shaker, this cross between a margarita and a martini is so potent that there is a two-drink limit. Happy hour, all day Mon and Tue-Sat 2pm-7pm, features rotating specials. Upstairs you'll find an excellent Mexican restaurant. Two other venues (8820 Burnet Rd and 4141 Capital of Texas Highway) offer the same menu but lack the spirit of the central location.
