When you're ready to dine and, at the same time, kick back, let loose and maybe go a little wild, the fun restaurants of Austin are ready to get the good times rolling. Carlos 'N Charlie's is located right on the water for all those Lake Travis visitors looking for good food, drinks, and live music. Their Tex-Mex cuisine and margaritas are widely popular. They are known for their "no shirt, no shoes, no problem" mentality and they are a great stop for those spending the day out on the water. If their live music and laid-back mentality is not enough, patrons can come enjoy the sunset over the water.
For genuine Southern home-cooking with real Texas music, head to Threadgill's. Neon beer signs and vintage clocks line the walls of this Austin institution, a gas station-turned-restaurant that also offers up live music. If comfort food is your pleasure, this is the right place; and if you like your vegetables, you will be in heaven. Whatever the entree, seconds on vegetables come free. Pork roast and fried chicken are great, but the chicken-fried steak is not to be missed.
Check out Lambert's Downtown Barbecue. Lamberts, located within the entertaining Warehouse District, pairs an energetic atmosphere with an upscale menu made up of barbecue, steak, and seafood. When finished with any one of their recommended dishes, you can enjoy live music playing on their second floor nearly every night of the week. Good food and good entertainment go hand in hand in Austin; there is definitely no shortage of fun restaurants in this city.
