Description:

  • Fusion food rises above its label at this Westlake eatery. The marriage of European and Asian cuisine, is all the rage, but here it actually fuses, rather than flops. From the first glance, the decor is comfortable, but elegant, with tasteful touches of Asian art and design. Must-haves include the Hot and Sour Gumbo and the Rack of Lamb, served with Japanese eggplant, Asian pasta and vegetables. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer variety of flavors, so take it slow. Each meal is a study in contrasts and while east may not meet west seamlessly, they do have a good time together.

Message from Bistro 88

A charming, eclectic family-owned and operated restaurant, Bistro 88 has been providing excellent upscale dining to Austinites for 10 years. Located just off the beaten path - a scant 3.5 miles from downtown Austin & 1.5 from Zilker Park - you'll find a more-than-meets-the-eye experience. Our restaurant offers an elegant yet comfortable environment; our service is friendly, knowledgeable, and sincere. We like having a good time as well as having fun with our guests and appreciate getting to know people - calling them by name. We come to work everyday aiming to please. Our menu runs the gamut from steaks, sushi, seafood, and game, all thoughtfully prepared through an Asian-fusion perspective and, of course, a little love. So come by and give us a try we welcome you and yours!
