Description:
- A Hill Country limestone cottage converted to an elegant restaurant? Yes, it can be done, and done well. This is a favorite spot for romantics of all stripes, who come for the harp music and relaxing, three-hour dinners. A prix-fixe menu is available, as well as an a la carte menu. The prix-fixe dinner includes bread, salad, appetizer, entree and dessert, and is uniformly well-executed. The chateaubriand melts in your mouth, and the truffle-topped tenderloin medallions are extraordinary. Desserts are second-rate, but who has room for them anyway?

Overpriced to the point of insanity. Mediocre food.

This is someone's attempt at creating Irish food. They do ok with the food. The prices are the real problem here. You could visit Ireland (as I have three times) and get much better...

We pass by this place on our way home very often, and have always been intrigued, but don't make high dining a priority in our monthly budgets. A groupon deal became available,...

Message from Emerald Restaurant (The)
*Located 1/4 mile from the new Hill Country Galleria Mall* The Emerald, a little touch of Ireland itself, is a cozy Irish cottage nestled in the beautiful Texas hill country, fifteen miles from Austin. This exceptional twelve star (awarded four for food, four for service, and four for atmosphere) restaurant offers excellent food, an extensive wine list, imported beers, and of course the 'water of life', fine Irish Whiskey. This carefully recreated Irish cottage, with it's enchanting shamrock wallpaper, authentic lace curtains, and Irish bone china are an ideal backdrop for a private party, rehearsal dinner, romantic evening, business dining, or any special occasion.
