- The whole "fellow obtaining an old family recipe and deciding to found a restaurant around it" thing is a common enough narrative within the dining world; in the case of Frank and Angie's, though, the fellow in question is Mike Hutchinson, co-founder of the eternally popular Hut's Hamburgers as well as the fortunate offspring of a Sicilian mother named Angie (the "Frank" is for Sinatra, whose picture presides over the festivities and whose various nicknames manifest themselves in the form of menu items). In defiance of the Austin area's college-fueled pizza saturation, Frank and Angie's has fought its way to the top of the pack with its unique, New York-style pizza, ingredient-intensive calzones, and a general Brooklyn-esque atmosphere.
