Description:

  • Hill's Cafe is a massive restaurant and concert venue owned by local radio personality Bob Cole. Opened in 1941 as a 20-seat coffee shop, the venue was expanded repeatedly through the years. The complex can now accommodate up to 500 people. An outdoor performance space behind the restaurant plays host to local and national country music stars. Order The Sizzler for their signature steak served on a sizzling hot platter. It's not just a dramatic presentation; it helps the steak stay warm longer as you devour it. The Hill's Old-Fashioned Burger has won multiple best burger awards from the Austin American-Statesman newspaper. The indoor bar is a popular place to watch University of Texas sports, particularly Longhorn football.

    Nice Place & Good Food

  • Nice place to eat a meal. The burgers are good. All the portions are large from appetizers, hamburgers, sides, and salads. The kid meal hamburgers seem sized for adults.

This place is full of local goodness!

  • This place is full of local goodness! Great southern comfort food (try the corn nuggets and chicken fried steak), live local music, a great patio area, and plenty of Austin history.
