Description:

  • This festive Cajun eatery offers a little bit of New Orleans on Sixth Street. Be prepared to get messy, as boiled shrimp, crab legs and unshelled crawfish are the staples here and eating with your hands is the norm. The food is always satisfying, with sides that should not be ignored—boiled potatoes, Cajun-style beans, corn-on-the-cob, rich gumbo and thick French bread. The atmosphere is decidedly laid back, with meals served on butcher paper. More than 70 kinds of beer are available from the full bar, and an average entree—including sides—won't break the bank.

Message from The Boiling Pot

Founded by Dot Le Blanc, The Boiling Pot began 21 years ago down in Rockport, Texas. Since then we have added the 6th Street location providing Austin with Cajun-style boiled seafood, heavy on the spices, in a casual family atmosphere. Pull up a chair at our tables draped with butcher paper, tie a bib around your neck, and grab a wooden mallet! We pride ourselves on serving you the best boudin, shrimp, blue crabs, stone crab claws, and crawfish. We'll throw it all on the table so you can dig in! So come on in and join the crowd. Our beer selection is sure to please, if not amaze you. We're located one block west of Interstate 35 on world famous 6th Street. Second building on your right. See ya soon!
