Public Question Asked by User140292 about Austin

I am flying into the city next month and will have about 4 hours before I am picked up. I want barbecue or mexican dinner. .

Is there transportation from/to the airport that you can recommend? What resturant can I go to using public transportation. Is there a med price hotel at the airport?

WELL YOU ARE FLYING INTO THE BBQ CAPITOL CITY OF TEXAS. THERE ARE MANY GREAT BBQ PIT ALL OVER THE CITY. THE BEST ON IS AT GILYS DANCE LAND . IT HAS SEVRAL BBQ PITS WITH IN WALKING DISTANCE OF HIS FAMOUS BAR AND GRIL. BY CAB IT WOULD BE ABOUT $20.00 AND A BBQ PIT FEEDS YOU ALL YOU CAN EAT OF RIBS CHICKEN AND BBQ BEANS AND GARLIC BREAD.... WILL COST YOU 1250 PLUS DRINKS. IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT TIME YOU ARE FLYING IN. THERE IS A BBQ PIT IN THE AIRPORT BUT IT IS NOT SO GOOD AND HIGH PRICED... GOOD LUCK .. EAT YOUR FILL AND NAP THE REST OF YOUR TRIP

I like the embassy suites best for a med priced hotel. They also include breakfast in the price and their shuttle can take you to any resturant for free. Another hotel is the marriot residents in. They include breakfast and dinner and some of their dinners are mexican and if not they can take you up to five miles just like embassy suites to anywhere you want to go. Chiptole is a great mexican resturant and they donate a lot of both food and proceeds as well as profits to local charitys, neighboring business or sometimes have free days for whoever comes in and sizzler is not mexican but is all you can eat. A cheap hotel for irvine is the homestead suites if you book online and they have tons of lil resturants incl mexican and bbq almost next door, definatly within walking distance and for nightlife there is musical theatre village about a block or less away and for their galas they have great food. Also you can call the pastor for terra nova church for rides. Sometime when they have missions they will provide food at their sat services from that country and it does incl mexican and they often have bbq for the heck of it. its free and up to $3.00 Tons of times they have potlucks but visitors are not required to bring stuff and so the mexican parishoners bring homemade mexican food and thats free, its usually sat eves but they do have breakfast steak and eggsand more on some sundays and like I said often find an excuse to bbq. If you love meat and a friend your bringing doesnt its ok, they have regular bbq burgers etc and veggie burgers etc on the grill.hope this helps
