Description:
The Queen Anne-style Rothesay House dates from 1910, and sits on a low-rise looking across the street to the harbor beyond. It's well situated for exploring Harbour Grace and the Baccalieu Trail, and has four comfortable guest rooms, each with a private bathroom. The inn's popular restaurant is open for three meals daily; make a reservation. The menu changes with the availability of goods, but tends to have a lot of selections for carnivores -- a nice break from the usual emphasis on seafood islandwide. The day's or night's menu might include pork loin chops with an apple and cream sauce, chateaubriand, or an orange basil chicken. Of course, there are also dishes of salmon and cod, as you would expect.
