Secluded spots, candlelight, great food, fine wine, an intimate atmosphere -- romantic dinners in Bali are a little slice of heaven. One of our favorite spots is Gajah Biru, which offers an unforgettable setting along a winding path beautifully illuminated by candlelight. It passes serene ponds and fountains with a dining area set in traditional Balinese pagodas filled with flowers. The menu consists of classy Indian cuisine such as spicy thali, tandoori chicken and plenty of international dishes from Australia, Mexico, Europe and China. There is a wealth of calorific desserts from the subcontinent and more familiar treats such as cheesecake and ice creams.
The tropical garden sets the elegant tone for lavish dining at Mozaic. The only restaurant in Southeast Asia to earn a prestigious Le Grande Tables du Monde listing, Mozaic is an artful blend of French, Asian and vegetarian fare, skillfully executed by chef Chris Salons. Meals are best enjoyed over the course of many hours -- not hard to do in the intimate garden setting.
Finally, there is also The Breeze in luxurious Samaya Villas at Seminyak - the ultimate beachfront dining. The restaurant boasts an extraordinary al fresco venue, paying homage to its name with fresh sea breezes whispering across its terraces. The venue is perfect for all day dining, and is one of the most romantic places to dine in Bali.
