The Best of NileGuide
- There is a variety of restaurants in Bali to suit every budget and taste. Warungs offer delicious, inexpensive portions of food like nasi goreng (fried rice) for only a few dollars. A warung can be a basic cart on the roadside or can be set up as a simple restaurant with plastic patio furniture. Padangs offer another version of Balinese fast food but are always in a restaurant-type setting. An inexpensive Muslim meal is known as gado gado--a combination of steamed veggies, a boiled potato and a boiled egg topped with peanut sauce. Our top recommendation, Bumbu Bali, serves excellent traditional Balinese food in a traditional setting. Paradise UN's is a popular choice for European cuisine in the heart of Kuta known for free appetizers and mini-size welcome margaritas. In Ubud, you can combine gorgeous views of the tiered rice patty fields while you enjoy your food at Three Monkeys. Other great restaurant choices in Ubud include the hip Warung Enak. Wherever you eat in Bali, you'll find the food as delicious and interesting as the Balinese culture.
