• Blue Planet is a large restaurant specializing in imaginative seafood dishes from around the globe. The menu has all the usual Indonesian grilled fish options, such as whole red snapper, barracuda and mahi mahi filets along with crab, calamari and lobster, but there is a good choice of sushi rolls, Mediterranean tapas and hard to find classic dishes such as bouillabaise and butterfly prawns. There is adequate choice for meat eaters, too, with dishes such as Beef Wellington, lasagnes and grilled Australian tenderloin. There is also a well-stocked cocktail bar and small adjoining lounge which has become a favorite watering hole of Kuta expats that remains busy through the night until closing. -Ray Montgomery
