• Depot Ika offers a true authentic warung experience which is now sadly lacking in most of Bali's major resorts. It offers no-nonsense, inexpensive food cooked and presented without fuss. Its atmosphere, which is incredibly vibrant and welcoming to all, is its major attraction. Its interior decor can be politely descibed as "different" - every square inch of wall space and furniture has been scrawled with graffiti and goodwill messages from previous diners, which adds a certain artistic appeal in places. It still still remains the number one place for cheap eats in the area, and diners can expect cheap and cheerful Indonesian home cooking like nasi goreng, ayam kalasan, chicken and beef satay and even fried catfish. Beer is ice cold and cheap, and a couple of Western snacks like sandwiches and grilled chicken are also offered. - Ray Montgomery
