• Tucked away in the far North of Jimbaran Bay, Sharkey's is perhaps not the easiest place to find but is well worth the effort for ardent seafood lovers. It is set some distance from the main strip of seafood cafes in the resort and is definately a cut above the rest with a romantic, secluded appeal. It also boasts wonderful ocean vistas. Owned by a former world bodybuilding champion, expect hearty portions of grilled snapper, grouper, lobster, prawns and calamari. There is also an extensive kids menu. Meat eaters can tuck into flame-grilled steaks, cajun chicken fillets and pasta. A small bar serves up refreshing cocktails and ice cold beer and is where you can find its famous residents: three fearsome-looking sharks in tanks who are not on the menu. Sharkey's offers free transport for diners from South Bali resorts, and reservations are essential for sunset dining. - Ray Montgomery
