• Padang-Padang meaning "power and fear" is a surf beach for the brave and experienced or the foolhardy novice with a death wish. For those who enjoy the safer option as a spectator, Padang-Padang Beach provides excellent vantage points. Although becoming somewhat crowded due to its rising popularity, it is considered one of the best surf breaks in Bali. The powerful waves are at times dangerously shallow, with conditions best at mid and high tides. At low tide the sharp reef becomes extremely hazardous with an abundance of stonefish adding to the danger. Reef booties are essential.
