Public Question Asked by Caligirl526 about Bali

Whats a great shopping place in Bali?

I will be in Bali for two weeks. What is shopping like there? I want to buy some wallets, watches and sunglasses. What do you think of the selection there? How much do you think will it cost?

You can go to Sakuwati, it`s a local market with a good deal for the price. you can get your wallets, watches and sunglasses from below $ 100.
By the way, you could go to Bandung, West Java by local airlines and you will get everything cheaper...i`m sure that you will not be dissappointed :)

hi Caligirl, i would say that there are many shopping places in Bali. Daning's right, for buying some cheaper items go to Pasar Sukowati. If you look for a better quality stuff with higher price, you may go for shops in Kuta and Legian area. I prefer the last two places for the selection of items. You can get a good quality leather wallet for 15USD. Watches and Sunglasses price will range from 10-unlimited :] depends on your need, and budget. For me who's living in Jakarta, I will only buy artistic souvenirs from Bali like wood carving, painting, bags, and accessories. Hope this will help. Enjoy your holiday :]

hi caligirl. i agree with daning and angelika, you should go to kuta and legian area for a better quality stuff and also more choices of stores. sukowati is a traditional market, so if you're looking for traditional handy crafts then sukowati is the right place. but u should also check some stores around seminyak, ubud (especially near "warung babi guling Ibu Oka", it's a famous small restaurant serving pork dishes in Balinese way), and tanah lot.
about the price, the range is starting from US$5-unlimited. but actually it's varies depends on the place and the stuff u're getting. one thing you shouldn't forget.. do not hesitate to BARGAIN, BARGAIN, and BARGAIN. yes! you're allowed to do that, especially in the small stores along the street. happy shopping!
