This is a very broad question, because is depends if you are looking for a party or something romantic or just something different. Also what sort of budget?
Here in Bali, most people tend to party hard in Kuta. It turns into one big drunken party (although since the bombings, not so crazy like before). I would advise you to book a hotel well in advance, because they fill up quickly. Transport is a nightmare on New Years, so stay within walking distance of where you want to be.
Also, be aware that it is wet season then and the beaches and weather are often not very nice at that time of year. Still good fun for partying though!
If you need any help with hotels, transport or anything else, please feel free to contact us and we'll help you out. :)

It really depends on your budget and what kind of hotel that you are looking for. There're plenty of choices that starts from $100 - $ 1000, but i would really suggest you to book way in advance since Bali will be very very very very busy during those periods. Try to search on asiarooms; they do give a good offer. Kuta and Seminyak area is a good choice tough..

Why Bali? :) The city never sleeps is just around an hour journey by plane, come to Jakarta and experience your best new years eve party till you drop ever! :) -- just an alternative though, Bali will be in it's highest season during this event, all the bars and hotels will be so packed and the rates will be as high as the ceiling. And remember, this time of the year all area in Indonesia will come to wet season, so better be prepared.

the question IS way too broad. if you like to party, stay in Kuta. if you like a quieter holiday, but still with good restaurant options, try Sanur. if you want to completely chill out try Spa Village Resort in Tembok.

there are so many options open, BUT as New Year is peak season, you will need to book now.
