If you still have energy after a long day of hiking, skiing, or sightseeing, head to Banff Avenue for a casual night at one of Banff’s bars or saloons.
Decorated with saddles, old farm tools, and other paraphernalia typical of the wild west, Wild Bill’s Legendary Saloon has a relaxed, rustic atmosphere. There’s a lot going on at Wild Bill’s – you can sit and chat while drinking a beer and eating a burger, listen to a live band, hang out in the separate games lounge, and learn how to line dance in the dance hall. Nearby, Elk & Oarsman boasts the highest rooftop terrace in town and spectacular views of the mountains, and offers good pub fare and a rustic, mountain atmosphere.
For a less casual, hip, check out Aurora, Banff’s largest nightclub which has four bars, pool tables, and a dance floor. With performances by great and an energetic atmosphere, HooDoo Lounge is also a great way to spend the night.
