For a small town, Banff has a huge variety of restaurants. You can eat very well during a trip to Banff. There are many local, western Canadian options, such as steak, salmon, wild game, duck, and more. But, there is a large variety of Asian and Mediterranean restaurants, as well.
Nourish Vegetarian Bistro has a great reputation as a leader in organic, earth-friendly food. It is full of variety. Nearby, in downtown, a gluten-free, organic bakery, Wild Flour, is a must for any visitor to Banff. It's not on Banff Avenue, but it's worth the few extra steps over to Bear Street to enjoy this little place.
Eden has a AAA Five-Diamond rating. It's the first of it's rank in Western Canada. It is the Rimrock Hotel's premiere, fine dining establishment. The price is high, though. For those looking for great mountain views and incomparable service, the Rimrock's other major restaurant, the Primrose, is a good option.
The Banff Springs Hotel has many restaurants inside. Castello Ristorante is one of Banff's classiest Italian restaurants. But, there's also Samurai Sushi Bar and the Bow Valley Grill to enjoy. These restaurants are on the upper end of the price-scale in Banff.
Downtown, the Maple Leaf Grille is one of the top-class restaurants in Banff. It is located near the King Edward Hotel in the heart of downtown Banff. Banff Avenue also has an eclectic variety of restaurants, such as the Grizzly House, Elk and Oarsman, and Chaya. You can have Greek at Balkan or local steak at the Saltlik. It's all good.
